On 13–14 January, partners of the I3-EPIC Project gathered in Budapest for two intensive and highly productive days combining a consortium meeting with an exploratory visit to key innovation and research institutions. The meeting confirmed once again that strong collaboration is the foundation of impactful innovation.
Day 1: Consortium Meeting and Regional Innovation Ecosystem
Location: DBH Group, Budapart
The first day focused on project coordination and strategic alignment. Consortium members reviewed project management activities and discussed progress across all Work Packages (WP1–WP6), addressing milestones, challenges, and upcoming tasks.
In the afternoon, the agenda broadened to include a session on the Regional Innovation Ecosystem, offering valuable insights into:
- national innovation and startup policy,
- sustainable finance and ESG frameworks,
- the Hungarian startup landscape and its development potential.
The day concluded with a guided walk around Buda Castle, followed by a networking dinner that provided space for informal discussions, experience sharing, and strengthening partnerships.
Day 2: Exploratory Visit and Technology in Action
The second day shifted the focus from strategy to practical implementation. At the Department of Polymer Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), participants took part in laboratory visits and live technology demonstrations.
The programme included presentations from ProForm, PolymerON, Filaticum, Plora.AI, and representatives of Budapest University of Technology and Economics, showcasing innovative solutions and applied research outcomes.
In the afternoon, the consortium visited the Bay Zoltán Research Institute (Bay Zoltán Kutatóközpont), where participants explored examples of applied research and technology transfer supporting industrial innovation.
Moving Forward Together
The Budapest meeting strengthened cooperation within the consortium and provided valuable perspectives on innovation ecosystems, research excellence, and technology development. With a shared vision and renewed momentum, the EPIC Project continues its journey—stronger, more focused, and better connected.
