Representatives of our organization participated in an industry meeting organized by Ministry of National Education, focused on cooperation with the chemical and environmental protection sector. The event was held as part of the project “Sectoral Agreement for Vocational Education and Training”, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss current labor market needs and technological challenges in the context of vocational education and training. The event brought together representatives of public administration, industry organizations, research institutes, companies, schools, and universities.
Key topics discussed
During the meeting, several important issues were addressed, including:
- workforce shortages, particularly in waste management, the petrochemical industry, and plastics processing
- the need to promote vocational education and increase its attractiveness
- proposed systemic changes, including modifications to job titles
- strengthening cooperation between education and business, including internships, patron classes, and joint educational projects
Attention was also given to the development of training programs and sectoral qualifications, especially in the context of emerging technologies such as hydrogen technologies.
Conclusions and next steps
The meeting concluded with a declaration of continued cooperation between industry representatives, public administration, and the education sector. It was emphasized that vocational education should closely reflect labor market needs and take into account ongoing technological developments.
