On September 9th, the kick-off meeting of the “ReDesign – Recyclable FRP structures and recycling strategies for vehicle applications” project, implemented as part of the CORNET Initiative, took place in Zittau.

The event was attended by representatives of the consortium members: Composites United Leichtbau-Forschung gGmbH, the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology (IWU), the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis BLACHOWNIA, the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster Tool Valley, and representatives of the Users’ Committee.

The project’s main goal is to develop sustainable and recyclable composites with a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin matrix for applications in the automotive and aerospace industries. These materials will be chemically recyclable, and the recovered fibers and resins can then be reused.

During the meeting, all planned project activities were discussed and plans for the coming months were presented. The results and effects of the work carried out will be systematically presented in subsequent stages of the project implementation.
