The MAT4EU project is a European initiative co-funded under the Single Market Programme, aimed at strengthening the advanced materials ecosystem and supporting manufacturing SMEs in developing innovative and sustainable solutions across Europe. By bringing together leading clusters from across Europe, MAT4EU fosters collaboration, accelerates innovation and supports SMEs in accessing international markets and value chains.

As part of this initiative, the MAT4EU Open Call is now open (6 May – 6 July 2026, 17:00 CEST).

Structure of the Open Call

The Open Call is organised into two distinct strands:

🔹 Strand 1 – Product innovations supporting European autonomy – Development and Innovation

Focused on supporting SMEs in the development, testing and validation of innovative advanced materials solutions.

🔹 Strand 2 – Mastering green and digital transformation – Industrial Adoption

Focused on facilitating the uptake, scale-up and integration of advanced materials solutions into industrial environments and value chains.

Funding model

Selected projects will receive:

• a fixed grant of €60,000 for Strand 1 projects with a minimum budget of €80,000

• a fixed grant of €33,750 for Strand 2 projects with a minimum budget of €45,000

Both grants correspond to a maximum 75% funding rate of eligible costs. A minimum 25% co-financing from private financial sources is mandatory.

What support includes

Selected SMEs will benefit from:
• direct financial support for innovation projects,
• mentorship throughout the programme,
• training and capacity-building activities,
• internationalisation support services,
• networking and ecosystem integration opportunities.

Project duration

The supported projects will last 12 months, from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.
