Competences of ITW sp z o.o. (owner of the Carbon4Nano brand) focus in the area of carbon nanomaterials. We develop and deliver applications (concentrates, dispersions, processing fluids) based on carbon nanotubes and graphene for the needs of many industries – automotive, metal processing, plastics and construction. In close cooperation with our clients and partners, we create innovative solutions that significantly improve the properties of their materials and products.

Carbon nanotubes and graphene have unique physical, chemical and mechanical properties. For example, the thermal conductivity of graphene and carbon nanotubes (5000 W / (m K)) is over ten times higher than that of silver or copper (300-400 W / (m K)), which significantly affects the efficiency of heat dissipation during technological processes. On the other hand, the tensile strength of graphene (130 GPa) is several dozen times higher than that of hardened steel (1.2 GPa).

The above properties of carbon nanomaterials open the door to many applications. Currently we are working on the development of a technology for combining a biodegradable base liquid with modifiers in the form of low-dimensional carbon nanomaterials, such as graphene and carbon nanotubes. The aforementioned mechanical properties, and on the other hand the ease of deformation under the influence of compressive and bending forces, significantly reduce friction, which makes it possible to design cooling lubricants at the molecular level.
