On 21–22 April, the EPIC project consortium met in Porto to review progress to date, update the strategy and plan key activities for the final phase of the project.
Day 1 – Setting the direction through dialogue
The first day was devoted to synchronising activities and substantive discussions between partners. Opening sessions, project discussions and in-depth business talks created a space for transparent communication and the exchange of experiences.
Conclusions after day one:
Aligning activities is an ongoing process, not a one-off task
An open and constructive exchange of knowledge strengthens the project
EPIC’s strength lies in its people and their commitment
Day 2 – From discussions to real-world applications
The second day focused on the practical dimension of innovation. The visit to Ecoibéria provided an opportunity to see solutions being implemented in an industrial setting , whilst the visit to INEGI demonstrated the potential of science and technology in the context of future collaborations.
Key takeaways from the second day:
Innovation becomes meaningful when you can see it in practice
Strong partnerships are forged both at the negotiating table and in the field
Collaboration flourishes where knowledge meets reality
A big thank you to INEGI for their hospitality and the excellent organisation of the meeting.
It wasn’t just a meeting – it was the next step in the development of the EPIC project. We are now moving from talk to action.
