BKP LAB is a new service implemented as part of the project entitled “InnoBKP – development and introduction of new services to the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster offer ” (POIR 2.3.7), which supplemented the commercial offer of the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster Tool Valley association.
It includes conducting specialized aging tests. Thanks to the use of technologically advanced Q-lab aging chambers, the range of services offered includes testing the strength of materials and products to weather conditions and other external factors.
The laboratory is equipped with two Q-Lab chambers that enable aging tests to be carried out, e.g. according to ASTM, ISO, DIN, EN, and SAE standards and their own, defined needs. In this way, Cluster supports companies in improving their products and increasing their durability, which is of key importance in many industries, such as tooling, plastics processing, automotive, construction, and chemicals.
Advanced technology and an experienced team of specialists allow us to meet the most demanding needs of customers and provide them with the highest quality services.
There are two Q-Lab aging chambers in the Cluster laboratory:
which can be successfully used in the aging of materials, such as paint and varnish coatings, fabrics, plastic elements and materials from the construction and industrial sectors. In addition, the tested materials can be present not only in the form of flat samples, but also in the form of spatial solids.
Q-Lab has been a global supplier of material durability testing equipment since 1956. It designs and manufactures standard test substrates as well as aging, solar radiation and corrosion testing equipment.
Aging tests allow you to simulate the conditions in which the product will be used, which allows you to estimate its lifetime.
Thanks to aging tests, the composition and quality of materials used in production can be adjusted to the conditions in which the product will be used, which improves its quality.
Conducting aging tests allows you to detect potential problems with products at the design stage, which saves time and money.
Thanks to aging tests, failures and accidents related to the use of products can be prevented, which increases the safety of users.
Aging tests allow you to detect potential problems with products at the design stage, which allows you to avoid financial losses associated with defective products.
Thanks to aging tests, more durable and safer products can be introduced to the market, which increases the company's competitiveness.
Products that have passed aging tests are considered more reliable and durable, which improves the company's reputation.
Aging tests allow you to simulate different conditions of use of the product, which allows you to test it in more realistic conditions.
Thanks to aging tests, you can optimize production processes, which allows you to achieve better results with less effort.
Aging tests performed on modern equipment by qualified staff at a convenient time allow you to quickly obtain the test result.
The Q-SUN Xe-3 xenon chamber reproduces the damage caused by total spectrum of sunlight and rain. In a matter of days or weeks, the Q-SUN test chamber can replicate material damage that occurs over months or years in atmospheric conditions. The Xe-3 tester is a fully functional test chamber for light fastness, color fastness and photostability. The Q-SUN Xe-3's 451mm x 718mm slide-out sample tray is useful for displaying large, three-dimensional parts or components. The Xe-3 offers humidity control and optionally sample spraying, cooling and reverse sample side spray functions.
The QUV Accelerated Aging Tester reproduces the damage caused by sunlight, rain and dew. In a matter of days or weeks, the QUV UV tester can reproduce damage that takes months or years in outdoor conditions. To simulate atmospheric conditions, QUV exposes materials to alternating cycles of UV light and moisture at controlled, elevated temperatures. It simulates the effects of natural sunlight and artificial radiation using special fluorescent UV lamps as well as dew and rain with moisture condensation and/or water spray.
