“The best education for young people is one that combines theory with practical application.” – Albert Einstein
CAREER GUIDANCE VISITS
Our association actively supports the education of young people in the region. To achieve this goal, we have developed a dedicated education model for the toolmaking and processing industry, one element of which is the organisation of career guidance visits to companies associated with the Cluster.
Who is it for?
• schools from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship,
• primary school students (grades 7-8),
• secondary school students (vocational schools, technical schools, general secondary schools).
Over the course of 10 editions, we have organised 205 career guidance visits, with the participation of more than 3,500 students from our region!
Through this project, we aim to provide young people with information about career development opportunities offered by working in the plastics processing and tool manufacturing industries, which are among the key sectors in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region.
The dynamic growth of this economic sector in our voivodeship means that the demand for qualified employees in the plastics processing industry is constantly increasing. Therefore, we are taking the initiative to promote technical education, inform young people about the realities of working in our industry, and present the opportunities it offers.
During a career guidance visit, students:
• Learn about the specifics of working in manufacturing companies,
• Discover the practical aspects of performing various professions,
• Gain knowledge about the areas of expertise and skills required in these professions,
• Meet specialists from various fields, creating an opportunity to ask questions and expand their knowledge of a chosen area.
Nothing motivates students to learn as effectively as experiencing real work firsthand. A single company visit can provide them with more knowledge than many hours of theoretical classes!
If you are a career advisor and would like to show students practical career development opportunities, contact us – we will be happy to organise a visit to companies belonging to the Cluster.
FROM KINDERGARTEN TO ENGINEER
he educational project “From Kindergarten to Engineer” is an original initiative launched by the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster Tool Valley Association, with its origins dating back to 2018. It was then that we first visited kindergarten children, carrying out one of the main objectives of BIC – educational activities.
In the 2025/2026 school year, we are launching another edition of meetings with the youngest residents of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. During visits to kindergartens, we aim to provide children with basic knowledge about the toolmaking and plastics processing industry in an engaging and accessible way, while encouraging them to explore science-related subjects.
We believe that these meetings will become an inspiration for children and encourage them in the future to pursue a career connected with the toolmaking and plastics processing industry.
An integral part of the project is the character of Mr. Mould – an injection mould that has become the symbol of the initiative. Mr. Mould, present during the classes as a mascot, will actively participate in the meetings, while his illustrated version will guide children through the world of plastics through a dedicated, original educational booklet.
As part of the project, we have also prepared a complete lesson plan and a set of educational and promotional materials, including certificates, stickers, and art supplies needed for the practical part of the activities. The entire initiative will be supported by a promotional campaign conducted through our communication channels and in cooperation with project partners.
Kindergartens interested in participating in the project are encouraged to contact our office. We are looking forward to meeting the children and, together with Mr. Mould, discovering the fascinating world of plastics!
